On this part of the tuneshop I can offer you various incredible great albums, full of wonderfull tunes, some of them never
or hardly been played on the pipes, but sounding oh so great through those drones and chanter. In Album 1:
the collection of 'The Sweet Potato Piper' , a walk through the sentiments of the War Years '39-'45.
And in Album 2: 'Bags Of Swank', a bag full of nostalgic songs the men sang to keep moral up. In' Pipes of War', tunes
written during the Great War 1914-1918, by pipers of the various regiments on the forgotten battlefields.

Title reference
The title ‘The Sweet Potato Piper’ refers to a tune of Glenn Miller and his Orchestra, recorded in 1940.
But also refers to a Piper of arcadia, a Shepherd poet whiles away his days playing a homemade panpipe and making up songs of love and loss. This album consists of selected music of hope, wishes, goodbyes and some relieving Jitterbugs, all from the '39 -'45 's waryears. Contains 23 great tunes.
All tunes to be played on the “Pipes”.

Tunes that the men sang as they marched along and kept the spirit up during hard wartimes. The title: ‘Bags of Swank’ refers to an RAF Vernacular of circa 1940, small talk, and means: pride in a job. It are 18 well known ‘soldier’ tunes the men sang in 1939-1945, some still existing from the previous war, composed and arranged for the Great Highland Bagpipe.
